Good post. I was planning on posting something similar about the sweet 8 year old girl roo.

What kind of monster could do such a thing? May have something to do with all the sex and violance in the media, movies in particular.

Acro - great response. I almost got stuck on the single tree for a moment but the forest is now well in view.

I'm not religious at all but I can say we took out the pilgrims years ago to sell Turkeys in November and most people have no idea what any of the world is about. Whether its the meaning of a holiday, who they are voting for (election day comes and many say - huh, you have to vote for more than just the president) - what’s cool and what’s right is what some tube online or in your living room tells you and damn it if a logo on a bag is worth $1,000 more.

Have no idea what the answer is but articles like this that make people think are a great break from domaining news every now and then - thanks for writing.

Francois - let this article ride ... for the easter bunny!!

Troy - as for that tree, yep, 100% agree with you - the whole innocent till proven guilty concept is a joke when people have cable :-)

Ummm... I know that it is likely that she did it but until you know for sure shouldn't we all keep the judging to ourselves? The whole "innocent till proven guilty" thing=)

Very good post, you are spot on. I was just having a very similiar conversation earlier this evening with my family. People have lost complete touch with the meaning of many of our Holidays and the majority of young americans will identify many holidays not with their true meanings and intent but with, as Tia and you both put it, Easter bunnies and Egg Hunting.

I saw that. That hit close to home because my daughter is the same age.

I also don't like Easter either because of “Easter bunnies and egg hunting".

A Sunday school teacher of all people....What the hell would be the motive? My heart goes out to that family.
