{"id":2195,"date":"2012-01-31T15:01:14","date_gmt":"2012-01-31T20:01:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=2195"},"modified":"2012-01-31T15:02:20","modified_gmt":"2012-01-31T20:02:20","slug":"its-2012-and-registrars-should-provide-bulk-edit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/its-2012-and-registrars-should-provide-bulk-edit\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s 2012 and Registrars should provide bulk edit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s 2012, and domain Registrars should provide bulk edit features &#8211; <strong>or risk losing their accreditation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I kept about 100 ccTLD domains with <a href=\"http:\/\/Domainmonster.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Domainmonster<\/strong><\/a> for the past year; when the time came for renewal, I decided that having waited for a full year for them to implement their bulk edit feature was plenty of time.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, Domainmonster responded to my request to remove the automatic renewal of my domains positively and once I opened a ticket they removed that feature on my behalf, editing all the domains in bulk.<\/p>\n<p>So I decided to move all of my domains to another registrar. The problem: unlocking the domains and generating the authentication codes can&#8217;t be done in bulk mode.<\/p>\n<p>Contacting support did not yield any results either; the Domainmonster support cited <strong>security issues<\/strong> that would not allow them to modify the lock status or issue en masse authentication codes on my behalf.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s manual edit mode for the last time; it&#8217;s the last time that Domainmonster will hear from me and my business, while I&#8217;m moving the domains to <a href=\"http:\/\/EuroDNS.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>EuroDNS.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s 2012, and domain Registrars should provide bulk edit features &#8211; or risk losing their accreditation.
