{"id":2206,"date":"2012-02-13T16:50:44","date_gmt":"2012-02-13T21:50:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=2206"},"modified":"2012-02-13T16:50:44","modified_gmt":"2012-02-13T21:50:44","slug":"dont-park-your-domains-if-theyre-listed-at-namejet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/dont-park-your-domains-if-theyre-listed-at-namejet\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t park your domains if they&#8217;re listed at NameJet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, Shane Cultra of <strong>DomainShane.com<\/strong> posted a report about how <a href=\"http:\/\/domainshane.com\/why-sedo-temporarily-closed-my-account-because-i-had-names-at-auction\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Sedo temporarily closed his account<\/strong><\/a> due to suspicious traffic activity.<\/p>\n<p>The culprit turned out to be domains that he had listed for sale on <a href=\"http:\/\/NameJet.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NameJet<\/strong><\/a> but which were still parked at Sedo. Something systematically clicked on these domains, generating unusually high revenue, which was then clawed back.<\/p>\n<p>A handful of domains that I sold on NameJet last month had the same pattern: an unusually high number of clicks for the three days of the auction, all while they were parked at Sedo.<\/p>\n<p>While I did not have issues with my Sedo account, it seems that Sedo learns quickly; their fraud department is expert in identifying bad clicks. Whatever crawled the NameJet listings generating hundreds of clicks was quickly identified. As a result, that revenue was not credited to my account.<\/p>\n<p>Although I&#8217;m not able to identify the source of traffic, I&#8217;d advice anyone who lists their domains on NameJet to pull them from parking during the days before and during an auction; thus avoiding unnecessary issues with Sedo or other parking companies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, Shane Cultra of DomainShane.com posted a report about how Sedo temporarily closed his account due to suspicious traffic activity.
