{"id":2301,"date":"2012-04-21T15:55:14","date_gmt":"2012-04-21T19:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=2301"},"modified":"2012-04-21T15:56:51","modified_gmt":"2012-04-21T19:56:51","slug":"is-it-bad-news-when-frank-schilling-doesnt-bid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/is-it-bad-news-when-frank-schilling-doesnt-bid\/","title":{"rendered":"Is it bad news when Frank Schilling doesn&#8217;t bid?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Frank Schilling<\/strong>&#8216;s active involvement in the domain aftermarket auctions has been covered many times by <a href=\"http:\/\/domaingang.com\/domain-news\/frank-schilling-buys-greece\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DomainGang<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fun and games aside, many domainers are curious about how the Canadian late-comer managed to build a successful empire, first registering and then acquiring thousands of top quality domain names; finally building a <a href=\"http:\/\/internettraffic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>domain sales platform<\/strong><\/a> for himself and for others.<\/p>\n<p>Frank&#8217;s active bidding on <a href=\"http:\/\/namejet.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NameJet<\/strong><\/a> is not a secret, and I&#8217;ve followed his bids closely at times &#8211; outbidding him once for a dictionary .net. I&#8217;m not sure if this is a feat to be proud of, but I respect Frank&#8217;s involvement in quality domain auctions, as a participant or as an observer.<\/p>\n<p>Today I had a strange thought: <strong>Should I be concerned<\/strong> if Frank Schilling isn&#8217;t bidding on two auctions I follow as a NameJet bidder? Is that an indication that the domains <strong>aren&#8217;t really of great potential?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After having a second cup of coffee, I decided that it&#8217;s simply <strong>a matter of being selective<\/strong>; unlike stamps or sports cards, with domains you can&#8217;t have them all. One needs to <strong>pick and choose<\/strong>, regardless of how nice a domain might seem to be.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it&#8217;d be great to bid against Frank once again, knowing that he&#8217;s a <strong>sensible bidder<\/strong> and not someone who places crazy amounts of money on the auction table.<\/p>\n<p>After all, gambling is best suited for the Las Vegas casinos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frank Schilling&#8216;s active involvement in the domain aftermarket auctions has been covered many times by DomainGang.
