This morning I received a notification that the Sedo account which made the offer I previously blogged about<\/strong><\/a>, has been closed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It appears that the account was only active for a few hours!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The email from Sedo mentioned the following:<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately we have been forced to cancel the recent bid thread as the buyer’s Sedo account has been closed.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At this point, I’m not sure if they felt that the offer was made illegitimately, or if the account holder requested that their account be closed.<\/p>\n

Usually, Sedo terminates accounts due to fraudulent activity<\/strong>, or attempts by holders of existing accounts to create multiple accounts<\/strong> at Sedo.<\/p>\n

Recently, I received an offer from someone in Libya<\/strong>, so this might be related. I find it rather unusual that such an offer is legit, and several proxy servers<\/strong> are known to exist at that war-stricken African nation.<\/p>\n
