{"id":2643,"date":"2012-09-03T12:46:53","date_gmt":"2012-09-03T16:46:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=2643"},"modified":"2012-09-03T18:08:34","modified_gmt":"2012-09-03T22:08:34","slug":"pasok-when-a-digital-makeover-means-little-to-the-greeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/pasok-when-a-digital-makeover-means-little-to-the-greeks\/","title":{"rendered":"PASOK: When a digital makeover means little to the Greeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pasok.gr\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>PASOK<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; <em>the Panhellenic Socialist Party of Greece<\/em> &#8211; celebrated 38 years in existence today, since its formation on September 3rd, 1974 by the late <strong>Andreas Papandreou.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2654\" title=\"pasok-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/pasok-logo2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"300\" \/>Distinguished for its emblematic <strong>green sun logo<\/strong>, PASOK stood for many decades as the supposed bridge between the leftists and the centrists, opposing the conservative right wing of the Greek parliament.<\/p>\n<p>Today, PASOK rebranded itself &#8211; much <a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/microsoft-rebrands-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>like Microsoft did<\/strong><\/a> a few days earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Its iconic green sun lost two rays and gained &#8220;perspective&#8221;, making the design resemble that of a flower &#8211; or that of an archaic political fossil, depending on the viewers&#8217; political angle. From a designer&#8217;s standpoint, it contains some serious perspective flaws.<\/p>\n<p>This digital makeover, however, means very little to the Greeks, who have abandoned the ship of the once socialist behemoth in drones, leaving it with just 12.28% of the vote in the latest elections.<\/p>\n<p>For its 38th anniversary, PASOK will need to bring substantially more to the table, than simply an image change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PASOK &#8211; the Panhellenic Socialist Party of Greece &#8211; celebrated 38 years in existence today, since its formation on September 3rd, 1974 by the late Andreas Papandreou.
