{"id":2786,"date":"2012-10-01T20:16:52","date_gmt":"2012-10-02T00:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=2786"},"modified":"2012-10-01T20:17:22","modified_gmt":"2012-10-02T00:17:22","slug":"whats-happening-on-twitter-klout-and-pinterest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/whats-happening-on-twitter-klout-and-pinterest\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s happening on Twitter, Klout and Pinterest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I use services like <strong>Facebook<\/strong>, <strong>Twitter<\/strong> or <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> I sign up with the purpose of utilizing the resources they provide.<\/p>\n<p>Not all social media are suitable for every function; and some are catering more to personal versus professional use.<\/p>\n<p>Although I tweak their settings to minimize my receipt of unwanted spam, there is one type of notifications that I despise: that of &#8220;here&#8217;s what&#8217;s happening at &#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It seems that every service has its own list of updates, and I have no problem with emails sent about improvements or additions, or even requests for feedback.<\/p>\n<p>But the daily or weekly summaries about my activity or that of others that I follow, leaves me uninterested.<\/p>\n<p>For now, I have resorted to marking them as spam, leading those notifications to my spam box, until I decide to go through them <em>en masse.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When using social media services, being able to turn off certain types of notifications earns more <em>Klout<\/em> from me, which I duly <em>Pin<\/em> and <em>Tweet<\/em> about. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I use services like Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest I sign up with the purpose of utilizing the resources they provide.
