I was running errands earlier today, and I became rather agitated by the slow traffic. Fridays are always busy, especially since we are getting closer to the Holidays.<\/p>\n
The music on the radio was interrupted by an announcement about the heartless killing of almost 30 people, including at least 20 young children in Newtown, Connecticut.<\/p>\n
And that’s when I realized my loss of comfort due to heavy traffic was nothing compared to this tragedy.<\/p>\n
I don’t understand what makes people turn against other people, in times of peace. Having had military training, I learned to respect the weapons and their use in defense; to protect one’s ground, family and country.<\/p>\n
The killing of innocent children is an act that will never be justified. There is no excuse, other than severe mental illness, hatred, animosity and malice – all combined in the mind of the now dead perpetrator.<\/p>\n
