{"id":3144,"date":"2013-02-07T10:22:30","date_gmt":"2013-02-07T15:22:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=3144"},"modified":"2013-02-07T10:23:13","modified_gmt":"2013-02-07T15:23:13","slug":"silence-is-unprofessional","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/silence-is-unprofessional\/","title":{"rendered":"Silence is unprofessional"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I described how one has to work harder when <a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/business\/selling-a-domain-to-a-corporation-you-must-work-harder\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>selling domain names to a corporation<\/strong><\/a>; there is plenty of bureaucracy to overcome.<\/p>\n<p>Despite utilizing the service of the two most valuable assets of the domain industry, <a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/internet-traffic-ending-2012-with-a-blast\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Internet Traffic<\/strong><\/a> and<a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/business\/escrow-com-pays-like-a-clockwork\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong> Escrow.com<\/strong><\/a>, things can still get sticky.<\/p>\n<p>Having completed yet another sizable sale this week, once again I faced the silence and inability of the buyer to complete their part of the deal in a timely fashion.<\/p>\n<p>While they gain points for not haggling with me over the price, once the domain details were surrendered there was complete silence. No returning my calls, emails or Escrow.com prompts.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, the escrow completed once the inspection period of one day ended. I always copy Escrow.com via email on the details of the domain and in the meantime point the domain to Escrow.com, once they receive the funds.<\/p>\n<p>Again, it&#8217;s not the fault of Escrow.com, who in fact called the buyer on the phone to speed up the exchange. I am not aware of what response they received, but at this point it does not matter; the sale is complete.<\/p>\n<p>However, keeping silent, as the buyer did, is <strong>unprofessional<\/strong>, particularly for a mega-corporation that&#8217;s proud of its products.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I described how one has to work harder when selling domain names to a corporation; there is plenty of bureaucracy to overcome.
