{"id":3389,"date":"2013-08-14T13:38:48","date_gmt":"2013-08-14T17:38:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=3389"},"modified":"2013-08-14T14:23:43","modified_gmt":"2013-08-14T18:23:43","slug":"confirmed-spam-email-from-a-gmail-account-promoted-domcollect-eu-domains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/confirmed-spam-email-from-a-gmail-account-promoted-domcollect-eu-domains\/","title":{"rendered":"Confirmed: Spam email from a Gmail account promoted DomCollect .eu domains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, I referred to a <a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/is-domcollectsedo-spamming-its-domain-portfolio\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>mysterious spam email<\/strong><\/a> promoting the auction of a .eu domain owned by <strong>DomCollect<\/strong> &#8211; a sister company of <strong>Sedo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, DomCollect functions as the private portfolio management company of domain assets owned by Sedo.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I can confirm that the spam email, sent using the <strong>mass email\/proxy services<\/strong> of a popular domain research tool, pointed to a DomCollect list of .eu domain names, as posted on DNForum earlier today.<\/p>\n<p>That post has been deleted, as it violated several DNForum rules.<\/p>\n<p>The link to the auction is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sedo.de\/search\/searchresult.php4?tracked=&amp;partnerid=&amp;language=us&amp;auctionevent=dcdotEU\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>here.<\/strong><\/a> It includes the .eu domain referred to by the spam email.<\/p>\n<p>I consider .eu domains to be <strong>junk<\/strong> and the practice of spamming by DomCollect is <strong>completely unprofessional.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, I referred to a mysterious spam email promoting the auction of a .eu domain owned by DomCollect &#8211; a sister company of Sedo.
