{"id":3739,"date":"2014-01-28T10:30:11","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T15:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=3739"},"modified":"2014-01-28T10:36:11","modified_gmt":"2014-01-28T15:36:11","slug":"namescon-2014-attendees-thank-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/namescon-2014-attendees-thank-you\/","title":{"rendered":"NamesCon 2014 attendees: Thank you!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"NamesCon: A perfect 10 of a domain conference\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/business\/namescon-a-perfect-10-of-a-domain-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NamesCon 2014 in Las Vegas<\/strong><\/a> was a great introduction to witnessing the domain industry&#8217;s growth; a clear indication that positive thinking is necessary for this industry to expand.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve already raved about the key elements of this particular event, <a title=\"A few words with Duane Forrester of Bing during NamesCon\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/business\/a-few-words-with-duane-forrester-of-bing-during-namescon\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>highlighting<\/strong><\/a> those that made it a complete success.<\/p>\n<p>This post is about the people that attended, whether we crossed paths or not &#8211; with <strong>600 attendees<\/strong> and numerous exhibitors, it was a challenge to greet and interact with everyone, even for those of us that are openly gregarious.<\/p>\n<p>During the <strong>Water Night<\/strong> event, I witnessed more than any other time in the past how a group of professionals can have fun and at the same time contribute to a great cause; more than $110,000 dollars was donated to the great cause of <a title=\"Water: Up to 75% of your body is H2O\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/social-issues\/water-up-to-75-of-your-body-is-h2o\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>providing quality water to African kids.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I brought home with me lots of memories, the result of fun and stimulating interactions and a mini <strong>Brazuca ball<\/strong> signed by some of the brightest people in the domain industry.<\/p>\n<p>This is a big <strong>thank you<\/strong>, for being at NamesCon 2014 with me.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3740\" alt=\"namescon-2014\" src=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/namescon-2014.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"624\" srcset=\"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/namescon-2014.jpg 800w, https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/namescon-2014-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/namescon-2014-768x599.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NamesCon 2014 in Las Vegas was a great introduction to witnessing the domain industry&#8217;s growth; a clear indication that positive thinking is necessary for this industry to expand.
