Blogs, or web logs, became popular in the early 2000’s as the term expanded to cover everything imaginable: from soccer moms raving about their kids, to poets releasing their innermost creations anonymously.<\/p>\n

When I first started blogging on Acro.net, my intention was very clear: to rant and rave about technology, web development and domain investing, as experienced on my own personal path in life. I kept my blog separate from my business web site<\/strong><\/a>, for reasons of clarity and distinction, but in the end I am still both a business owner and an individual.<\/p>\n

This blog will be 6 years old next week, and I’ve found myself producing constructive content about the domain industry, brands and design trends more than in the past.<\/p>\n

Domain industry blogs are not free for all publications; they are a projection of their owner’s personality and exist for the reasons and needs their owner defines, privately or publicly.<\/p>\n

While most blogs accept comments and encourage interaction, their function is accomplished once the message is out; as a writer and creative person, my primary goal is to express my ideas and announce them. Feedback isn’t always necessary, or even welcomed; blogs were born to allow for venting off in a specific manner.<\/p>\n

I do my best to engage in conversations when possible, although my time is spread among several projects on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

Those that have something positive and constructive to say, are given voice; the few that complain about the approach I might take in my writings are often engaged in a private communication via email – as long as they provide a valid email address.<\/p>\n

Finally, those that clearly troll or are strongly opinionated with no intention to have a constructive communication, are blocked. There is plenty of negativity in this world, and not enough time!<\/p>\n

So think about it: if you have something to say about yourself and an opinion that you absolutely *must* get out there, why don’t you start your very own blog?<\/p>\n
