Before the general availability launch for .Sexy and .Tattoo I placed pre-orders with 101Domain.com<\/strong><\/a> and another domain registrar, for dot .Sexy domains.<\/p>\n

The registrar that failed to secure these domains for me, issued a refund within an hour of failing to do so.<\/p>\n

In addition, I attempted to hand-register several domains, based on my research of domain availability lists, during the first minutes of general availability.<\/p>\n

Most were processed right away at 101Domain.com, but one remained in “pending<\/em>” status.<\/p>\n

I checked the WHOIS at Uniregistry and the domain had been registered less than 100 seconds prior. The domain I was after was im2.sexy and apparently someone else is both sexier and luckier; eNom is the registrar.<\/p>\n

After receiving a notification email from 101Domain.com that several domains remained in pending status per Uniregistry, I opened a ticket to expedite the refund for the domain that had failed to be secured.<\/p>\n

Today I received that refund and there are no pending registrations there. Additionally, I have hand-registered several .Sexy domains at eNom, a registrar that offers discounted pricing for reseller accounts.<\/p>\n

As the launch of new gTLDs by domain registries continues, minor issues are expected to arise. Usually, matters are resolved in the end, even if there is an underlying frustration about time and effort spent in the process.<\/p>\n

The bottom line: there will be plenty of ‘candy’ for everyone, during the entire roll-out of new gTLDs. Focus on what you’ve gained, not what you’ve lost.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
