I always appreciate such interaction, whether it occurs at forums or domain conferences, such as <a title=\"Things you missed out if you didn\u2019t attend TRAFFIC 2012\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/business\/things-you-missed-out-if-you-didnt-attend-traffic-2012\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>TRAFFIC<\/strong><\/a> and <a title=\"NamesCon: A perfect 10 of a domain conference\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/business\/namescon-a-perfect-10-of-a-domain-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NamesCon<\/strong><\/a>, or over the phone.<\/p>\n<p>My conversation with a branding behemoth from New York reassured me that the industry is heading to a spectacular growth.\u00a0 The two coasts, East and West, offer separate mentalities in how brands will affect the expansion of the Internet name space.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst domainers, the overall impression is that of stagnation, perhaps because those outside the &#8220;dance&#8221; expect everyone else to dance on their behalf. But that quiet tone will soon change, and it will be quite stentorian.<\/p>\n<p>The truth is, that exposing the <a title=\"Domain industry polarization over gTLD expansion\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/business\/domain-industry-polarization-over-gtld-expansion\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>pitfalls of the domain industry<\/strong><\/a> is a self-cleansing process; it reveals the real motives behind alliances that don&#8217;t last, and reinforces those that were formed in honesty and for the sake of mutuality.<\/p>\n<p>As today is Ash Wednesday, it&#8217;s a good time for those of you who willfully ignored the advice and goodwill of others that shared it openly, to seek forgiveness for your &#8220;sins.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You know who you are.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not every domain inquiry leads to a sale, and not every sale leads to a long-term connection or other business relationship.
