While there is a trend that treats every numeric domain<\/strong> as a coin of sorts, the truth is that not all numbers are created equal.<\/p>\n

In the course of a decade, I’ve invested in a limited amount of numeric domains in the original three TLDs, perhaps no more than 25 in total, maybe less.<\/p>\n

Selective investment means that I am not interested in flipping domains; as a long term investor I treat domains as assets to hold onto, until the right buyer comes along.<\/p>\n

The sale of 360.org<\/strong><\/a> in 2009 proved that one can make a nice ROI out of particular numbers. I do not ascribe to the notion that every numeric domain has a buyer, unlike the current frenzy on Chinese domain venues catering to resellers.<\/p>\n

Enter 100.org<\/strong> – my best acquisition and sale of a numeric domain to this date<\/em> – which awaited for the ‘perfect storm’ and the perfect buyer to acquire it. In the past, I received offers from banks, healthcare institutions and the typical Chinese buyer offering $100, none of which led to a sale.<\/p>\n

I’m very satisfied by the selling price, and the fact that it’s now owned and used by The Solutions Project<\/strong><\/a>, a new, exciting initiative for 100% renewable energy<\/strong> across the US.<\/p>\n

The Solutions Project<\/strong><\/a> marched in New York in the recent peaceful demonstrations about the preservation of the environment. It’s an honor seeing major Hollywood celebrities, such as Mark Ruffalo<\/strong> and Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong>, along with car racer Leilani Munter<\/strong> backing the initiative with their established reach to the world of entertainment and to billions of movie viewers worldwide.<\/p>\n

I’ve included some of the pictures depicting the first use and promotion of 100.org by The Solutions Project. The sale of 100.org exceeded that of 360.org, thus setting a new record<\/strong> for a three digit .ORG domain. DNJournal<\/strong><\/a> will publish the details tomorrow.<\/p>\n
