{"id":4386,"date":"2015-01-20T15:16:01","date_gmt":"2015-01-20T20:16:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=4386"},"modified":"2015-01-20T15:27:13","modified_gmt":"2015-01-20T20:27:13","slug":"namescon-chatter-uniregistry-listens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/namescon-chatter-uniregistry-listens\/","title":{"rendered":"NamesCon chatter: Uniregistry listens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The presence of <a href=\"http:\/\/Uniregistry.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Uniregistry<\/strong><\/a> at NamesCon was not decorative; the 17+ staff members were there to listen to both customers and non customers, and improve both the registry and the DNS platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeff Gabriel<\/strong>, VP of Sales at Domain Name Sales delivered a powerful presentation at <a title=\"Why NamesCon did not happen in 2004\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/namescon-not-happen-2004\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NamesCon<\/strong><\/a>. Some called it, a &#8220;<em>car salesman speech on steroids<\/em>&#8221; as it was definitely aggressive and empowering.<\/p>\n<p>The bottom line is, we all want to achieve a large number of domain sales, and that&#8217;s what this was about. Vincent Jacques wrote an extensive article on this presentation, so <a href=\"http:\/\/tldinvestors.com\/2015\/01\/some-tips-on-how-to-be-a-better-seller-using-domainnamesales-com.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>check it out.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While grabbing a sandwich and a coffee during a break, I mentioned to Jeff a rather annoying issue with offers made at DNS.<\/p>\n<p>An offer for a domain with a reserve price can be followed &#8211; <em>ad nauseam<\/em> &#8211; by several subsequent offers. This method is used by the party interested in the domain, in order to speculate on the reserve price, never actually intending to place that high of an offer.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff took a note of my request to limit such serial submissions of offers until a response is issued by the domain owner. His Siri did not cooperate at first, but he did note my request, and I am positive that this change will be implemented very soon at Domain Name Sales.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff&#8217;s direct interaction with clients has helped solve issues and resolve glitches in the past as well.<\/p>\n<p>Looking forward to many more improvements from the best domain sales venue in the market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The presence of Uniregistry at NamesCon was not decorative; the 17+ staff members were there to listen to both customers and non customers, and improve both the registry and the DNS platform.
