{"id":4519,"date":"2015-03-25T22:12:01","date_gmt":"2015-03-26T02:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=4519"},"modified":"2015-03-26T01:09:47","modified_gmt":"2015-03-26T05:09:47","slug":"pickles-and-dicks-flippa-hump-day-special","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/pickles-and-dicks-flippa-hump-day-special\/","title":{"rendered":"Pickles and Dicks : Flippa hump day special"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I almost bid on Shane Cultra&#8217;s domain auction of <a href=\"https:\/\/flippa.com\/3939223-bigpickle-com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>BigPickle.com<\/strong><\/a> earlier today; but I got distracted by some late evening BBQ&#8217;ing.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a great brandable domain, and I just might have a potential buyer for Shane &#8211; if only he picked up the phone to <a title=\"Weed and feed your domains\" href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/weed-and-feed-your-domains\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>return my calls<\/strong><\/a>. Making $6k versus $600 should be a big enough incentive. Emails are ok too.<\/p>\n<p>In another Flippa auction, <a href=\"https:\/\/flippa.com\/4214937-viral-site-with-over-150-000-in-sales-and-375-000-visits-in-4-days\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DicksByMail.com<\/strong><\/a> went all the way to $100,000 bucks, only to have its top bidder disqualified.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What a dick.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The auction is now a mere $10,000 and lots of gummy dicks as inventory at the entrepreneur&#8217;s basement are waiting for a new owner.<\/p>\n<p>Something that&#8217;s been <strong>bugging<\/strong> me for a while now and wanted to share: Why does Flippa allow comments in sales threads, <strong>without a bid?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve seen people with &#8220;NEW&#8221; accounts signing up just to comment. Some people have 20-30 comments with no bidding history. Zilch.<\/p>\n<p>Positive, or negative comments, it&#8217;s irrelevant. <strong>No bid, no comment<\/strong>, that would cut down on unnecessary noise at auctions.<\/p>\n<p>On a good note, Shane&#8217;s sale of <a href=\"https:\/\/flippa.com\/3939262-weak-net-14-year-old\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Weak.net<\/strong><\/a> for $1,000 should net him almost $600, if this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.namejet.com\/Pages\/Auctions\/BackorderDetails.aspx?domainname=weak.net\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NameJet<\/strong><\/a> page is right.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, I like the new <a href=\"http:\/\/domaingang.com\/domain-news\/flippa-app-available-for-android-and-ios-devices-for-its-domain-marketplace\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Flippa app for Android<\/strong><\/a>, it&#8217;s about time that non-Apple users can search the domain auctions from our couches.
