{"id":4582,"date":"2015-04-28T11:10:41","date_gmt":"2015-04-28T15:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=4582"},"modified":"2015-04-28T11:12:08","modified_gmt":"2015-04-28T15:12:08","slug":"domain-duel-dropcatch-2-snapnames-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domain-duel-dropcatch-2-snapnames-0\/","title":{"rendered":"Domain duel : DropCatch 2 &#8211; SnapNames 0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the second consecutive time, <a href=\"http:\/\/DropCatch.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DropCatch.com<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; a NameBright outfit for catching and auctioning dropped domains &#8211; beat <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/SnapNames.com\" target=\"_blank\">SnapNames<\/a><\/strong> for a domain I was after.<\/p>\n<p>Once touted for its ability to beat other drop catching services, such as Pool, SnapNames charges $69 as a basic fee.<\/p>\n<p>DropCatch charges $59.<\/p>\n<p>Operating in an industry that measures success in milliseconds, DropCatch appears to be using better-located servers and faster software that grabs the domain of one&#8217;s choice.<\/p>\n<p>So far, I did not have to participate in an auction, and the domain, once paid for, ended up in my <a href=\"http:\/\/NameBright.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>NameBright<\/strong><\/a> account for easy management. While I am not fully sold on the use of the latter as a domain registrar, I appreciate its integration with DropCatch.<\/p>\n<p>Adding insult to &#8216;injury&#8217;, SnapNames followed up an email about its failure to secure the registration, with another offering the domain for sale.
