{"id":4586,"date":"2015-05-08T14:53:22","date_gmt":"2015-05-08T18:53:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/?p=4586"},"modified":"2015-05-08T14:53:22","modified_gmt":"2015-05-08T18:53:22","slug":"give-the-domain-buyer-a-piece-of-your-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/give-the-domain-buyer-a-piece-of-your-mind\/","title":{"rendered":"Give the domain buyer a piece of your mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Negotiations that rely on the domain buyer&#8217;s commitment to establish credibility of their interest, can often lead to a non-sale.<\/p>\n<p>When a buyer displays interest, or even seems to understand the requirements set forth by the seller and yet does not commit to a timeframe, the process is doomed to fail.<\/p>\n<p>As I&#8217;ve said recently, I currently limit the <a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/domain-inquiries-quotes-are-valid-for-3-business-days\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>validity of my quotes to three business days<\/strong><\/a> only, in order to establish a binding agreement. I am not interested in receiving inquiries that go &#8216;ad nauseam&#8217; into a loop that expects me to wait for <a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/domain-buyers-claiming-to-have-alternate-options\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>alleged bosses, partners or other parties<\/strong><\/a> to agree or function. The person who contacts me is expected &#8211; <em>by my standards<\/em> &#8211; to bear full responsibility for their inquiry and their monetary offers.<\/p>\n<p>When that point is reached that you realize the exchange won&#8217;t happen, do not hesitate to inform the buyer that they are effectively acting unprofessionally.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acro.net\/blog\/domains\/domain-selling-how-to-say-no-without-saying-it\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Giving them a piece of your mind<\/strong><\/a> can be phrased carefully, and yet effectively; make sure you emphasize their lack of commitment and seriousness in their offer.
