PayPal<\/strong><\/a> revamped its web site a couple of years ago, along with its logo and overall brand.<\/p>\n

The platform is very popular, and although it’s not the most secure for domain transactions due to the “digital assets” clause, it’s still in widespread use among domain investors and other professionals.<\/p>\n

A huge headache that I’ve come across is how to download old history, as the basic search goes back just one calendar year.<\/p>\n

This is extremely limited, and if one changes the dates by hand in the drop-down menu, they revert to current days.<\/p>\n

To search old transactions, one has to download their PayPal history<\/strong>, and there is no link<\/strong> from the main web site pointing to it.<\/p>\n

I had to dig into a lot of PayPal FAQ entries to locate what appears to be the fastest method to download one’s PayPal history.<\/p>\n

Not only it’s hard to find, it’s also displayed using the old web site interface and code. I assume PayPal is hiding that feature from the public, to prevent mass downloads and limit (ab)use.<\/p>\n

I’m sharing this link here for my own future reference, and for those who, like me, get a massive headache every time, trying to locate the elusive PayPal history!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Once created, such search results with a date range can be downloaded from the link that arrives in one’s email.<\/p>\n

Wide date ranges will take longer to complete, and it might be a good idea to download a full archive of all your PayPal transactions since the very beginning, and save it for quick local searches.<\/p>\n

Thanks, PayPal; please use some common sense, and fix this user experience flaw.<\/p>\n

Update 2020:<\/strong> PayPal is now limiting the number of years of transaction history that you can download to only 7<\/strong>. The process is the same as before.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
