When it comes down to domain name investing and the upcoming expansion of the Internet name space, the so-called Main Street behaves like a carriage horse.
It passively likes to be led, commanded, directed.
It takes no initiative, thanks to the decision blinders that have been kept on it for years.
Whose fault is it when articles like the one published by Forbes not only paint a distorted picture of the domain industry, but vehemently insist they are right about their assumptions?
Today’s interconnected world takes very little time in absorbing substance and spends lots more time obeying commands. Like a carriage horse, it is swayed to the left or to the right, based on the pull of the reins.
How do you retrain a passive consumer that processes information like the carriage horse that only eats from its sack of hay?
Education on drastic changes in processes requires focus, effort and relentlessness. To educate the passive and those that never take any initiative to explore an alternate route, the news must be delivered with accurate intensity – by consistent force, if necessary.
Sounds a bit like the definition of propaganda – that’s because it’s easier to sway someone, than to inform them of their freedom to sway themselves around.
Don’t expect the Main Street media to do the research and the hard work on your behalf; they have been working the news coal mine for years, and a new route requires hard work, dedication and time.
Articles such as the one at Forbes will continue to pop up – unless you sustain a wave of education, information – propaganda, if you may – about the domain investing industry.
No-one will do it for you, so take control of those reins already!
