Escrow.com: Let us sweat the small stuff

Every single time I’ve praised the quality of service at Escrow.com, I’m left wondering how can they possibly better themselves the next time around.

And yet, they always do.

Escrow.com offers an indispensable service to the domain community and they deserve a whole lot more praise than they receive.

In a recent transaction initiated through Domain Name Sales, the buyer asked for a particular type of invoice used mostly in Europe.

Before Escrow.com took over and due to the time difference between the buyer and I, three days went to waste performing these tasks:

  • Asking for their contact information to issue the invoice.
  • Providing them with my invoice and a link to the Escrow.com transaction.
  • Hearing back that they will be paying by bank wire and they need a different type of document.

All I had to do was explain to Escrow.com what the buyer anticipated to see on that invoice, and they provided it through the DNS platform; the buyer is happy and I’m once again thrilled with the way Escrow.com handled it.

Escrow.com displays the message “Let us sweat the small stuff” on its Support page – it’s 100% accurate.

This is one additional reason I voted for Escrow.com for the TRAFFIC 2013 awards.

  1. waiting for your rant when you would go bombarding escrow sometime soon, like sedo. Used to love sedo now hate them, and every post you make about domain name sales, you mention sedo and criticize them, and there were days you used to love them. I know escrow sucks coming soon 🙂

  2. sukhjin – You will be waiting forever then.

Have been using Escrow.com since 2002 and never had a single issue. Sedo, that’s another story. My criticism of Sedo is based on personal experience and as an example of a company that disregarded valid issues raised by me and others.

It is clear, from experience, that the Domain Name Sales / Escrow.com pair is far superior than Sedo.

  3. DNS and ESCROW are so far ahead of everyone. They both keep improving while the others are treading water.

  4. All my this year sales are done through Escrow,
only one small one went through Sedo.
Why to waste money for huge comissions?

    Maksim.

  5. Well what a nice post to read! We really appreciate the kind words and partners like DNS and customers like you!

    Thank you, thank you.

  6. Andee – I believe that industry awards lose their impact, when perpetual customer satisfaction isn’t commented upon. 🙂 In other words, keep up the great work, and Escrow.com customers will continue to deliver rave reviews.

  7. I also had the issue with German buyer asking for the invoice. Unfortunately the buyer insisted on Sedo Escrow, therefore I had to deal with all that stuff myself: the invoice, receiving registrar documents in German, etc. I can’t say I’d recommend Sedo’s Escrow over Escrow.com, but I’m happy I’ve learned something new on my own 🙂

  8. We agree with Acro. Escrow.com is no doubt the best and have continued to evolve and continuously get better and stay the best over the years. We’ve been an early customer of Escrow.com and try to make all of our domain buy and sales via them. Sometimes you have no choice but to go with another, but it’s not always as easy or reassuring. Just called them today for a transaction in China. It’s nice to have the warm fuzzies and no stress.
