  1. The public version of Domaining.com offers exactly the same features at no charge and much more if you sign up.

I count several agregators launched these last months focusing on domaining. I am not sure this dilution be positive when what we need is to have a strong site that can finance large ad campaign to end users to promote our industry.

My personnal feeling is it should be more beneficial (and probably more rewarding) these people or companies spend their money, time, … trying to build some innovative service better than making copycats of existing services.

There is probably a lot of new services to build around our industry and I am sad of this lack of creativity. Often we think all is already invented and there is no longer room for success. That’s false! tomorrow success is building today.

  2. Great idea. The only extra I would recommend is a comment section that allows users to comment instantly regarding each item. Aggregating services like this are going to be the powerhouse for their respective industry’s in the future if done correctly. I hardly bother with dn forums or dn news sites anymore. The aggregates are providing a more concise view of the industry. They even can source out the best information on forums and post that as well as blog posts. Industry specific information in one place rules.

  3. Francois, while I respect the work you’ve done with Domaining.com there are certain things that are too business-like. I recall we had a conversation over whether your site is an “aggregator” and you said no.

DNGator.com is a lightweight domain news aggregator that offers syndicated content without additional clutter. I respectfully disagree on the “dilution” statement; that’s a euphemism for not having multiple voices, akin to a monopoly 😉

Jim, thank you for your suggestions and in this public beta we are open to suggestions.
