Domain inquiry types: the annual beggar

The beauty of the Domain Name Sales platform is its ability to cross-reference data, better than any other system.

Every domain inquiry is linked to prior inquiries, and to inquiries made by the same person’s email address.

Data means very little when you cannot utilize it to your advantage, and Domain Name Sales does that expertly.

In a recent domain inquiry, I realized that the same person contacted me exactly one year ago; the reason being, that the domain expires in early January.

Typically, I renew domains within a week of their expiration and this one isn’t yet renewed. Apparently, this is an indication of ‘abandonment’ by some end user buyers, that are not familiar with the modus operandi of domain investors.

Being sent an offer below my selling threshold is fine; being lectured about why I still own a domain that ‘hasn’t sold’ is another thing. A ‘sour grapes’ approach by a buyer who attempts to discredit the value of the very same domain they inquire about, leads to instant end of communications.

After realizing that the same person contacted me last year, with whom I had a polite but lengthy exchange on why I price the domain accordingly, I kept it short this time, wishing them lots of success in their future ventures and sent the inquiry to the trash.

Time is a priceless asset, and Domain Name Sales can save you tons of it.

  1. AND you get to meet college students. I am amazed how many college students want to buy my domain for a project their working on.

  2. Good strategy, you would be surprised how many cheapo’s have backorders on quality domains, and refuse to pay the domain owner a fair price, all in living the hoop dream that they will drop it. With these guys we talk, they kick the tire, then I renew the domain for 5 years, then 1 in 10 will purchase.

  3. Acro thanks for blogging

    and

    Happy New Year!

  4. It is truly rewarding for all of us at DomainNameSales.com to hear about how you use this platform. Please know that “you’re not alone”. We’ve heard 100’s of stories similar to this and we’re proud to be the only CRM to provide so much data, so openly and unfiltered to our users. As you pointed out, the benefits compound over time. You have to work sales leads anyways; work them using the tools at DomainNameSales and you will see opportunities like this and others that just are not possible anywhere else. Frank Schilling created many of these tools, to: “unlock the value of his domain names” .. He continues to use the exact same kit we offer you, and has sold more of his names for more money, every year since he began. You have to work your sales leads anyway. Work them “smarter” at DomainNameSales.com and you should have a very Happy 2014 and beyond. Thanks again for posting so honestly.
