After several technical issues, delays and logistical glitches, ICANN pulled the plug on his “digital archery” method of gTLD application management and allocation.
The news is, that the new system reminds more of a lottery or raffle, to decide which applications for new top-level domains should be dealt with first.
At this point, I’d like to commend Mike over at DomainAnimal, who predicted it all along.
Truly a simple, yet effective method, that Mike envisioned and which was “colorized” by a tongue-in-cheek infographic I provided.
Mike, you are brilliant. 😀
hmmm, I appreciate the commendation Theo, but I wouldnt take credit for predicting this one, though my post, a parody, did involve a lottery of sorts, sans the candy bars and golden tickets its not quite the same solution I had imagined. 🙂
As long as you are tracking predictions here is mine …although I am ashamed as to how obvious it seems to be. The GTLDs are all gonna crash and burn»»every last dot worthless one of them.
