“It’s the end of the Domain World as we know it, and I feel fine.”
That’s how I would summarize Rick Schwartz’s post from earlier today, announcing his retirement from active blogging.
While he promised to return on special occasions, the Domain King stated that he has accomplished it all, so what’s there to do next?
It’s definitely a smart move by Rick, who often dishes out “tough love” in ample doses. Rick wants to concentrate on business, not blogging. And that’s what makes his views a well-respected cornerstone of domaining; Rick has documented the timeline of domaining in intricate detail.
Sometimes it’s better to work under the radar, without as much as a hint about what’s coming up. And Rick’s artificial silence will make many wonder what he’s up to next.
And that’s a good thing, because even grander things are expected from those that have accomplished their goals in life.
I believe he’s going away for unknown reasons.
He will come around again with something totally new and he will remain the king of the new “thing”; obviously.
