New post record without the need for newsletter clicks

The late night post at DomainGang about Morgan Linton and Daina getting married, generated a new overnight readership record, with more than 400 clicks on the Domaining.com feed. To view those clicks, one has to have a Premium membership.

Of course, because Francois of Domaining.com censors Domaingang from being published in the newsletter headlines, this feat seems pointless.

But is it really?

I have a hard time convincing Francois that by discriminating against DomainGang, he is not only hurting himself but also the domain industry. As a content provider, I’ve been an outspoken member of the domain community for a full ten years.

The problem, however, does not appear to be Francois himself.

The only person that seems to obsess with DomainGang, what I do and how I do it, showed his true colors yesterday, in a self-massaging post. As a long distance runner, I would expect Shane to have a clear head but apparently obsessing over DomainGang and me personally is a favorite pastime. I had no idea that people can display one persona in one’s face and another behind their back; so call me naive for believing in friends and a man’s word. Where I come from, the word “filotimo” means both engaging in hard work and honoring one’s word and ethos.

Onwards: I plan to implement new content on DomainGang and re-wrap the current content in a way that is easier to access. There are more than 2,000 unique articles, that aren’t available directly to the DomainGang visitors – this will now change. Other improvements and additions are planned as well and I’m open to suggestions via info@domaingang.com

This is only the beginning of the 4th year of DomainGang.com; a big thank you to those that stand behind me no matter what. I don’t need fair weather ‘friends’ to succeed.

I was away yesterday and missed all the drama.

A few minutes ago, I posted my opinion on Shane’s blog, defending you and DomainGang.

I don’t always agree with you, Theo, but I respect and like you.

  2. Ms Domainer – People have opinions and that’s fine and dandy. No problem with that. What I have a problem with, is egomaniacs that attempt to impose their opinion onto others, particularly when they are in the wrong. Nobody is forced to read what they don’t like.
