Facebook reached the magic number of one billion active users in a given month, today.
A beaming Mark Zuckerberg announced the milestone, giving it his eulogy with the excitement that any other parent who loves their child should behold.
Regardless of whether Mark is off the top 10 billionaires list, the achievement – without the contribution of Chinese users, no less – is purely monumental.
The number 1,000,000,000 represents one-seventh of the world’s population; give or take a few thousand pets that apparently have their personal page on Facebook. My favorite, is of course that of Boo.
For my TRAFFIC 2012 nominations, Facebook was nominated for the “We get it” award.
To further honor Mark Zuckerberg, I renamed my wi-fi for the day. I wonder how many will actually attempt to connect to it. 😀
Clever, I’ll give ya that ; ) Good title.
Hopefully nobody will file an UDRP claim against you for bad faith 🙂
Michael – Glad you got a chuckle out of it. 😀
Jay – You’re be surprised at some of the names people give to their wi-fi. My favorite has to be “pretty fly for a wi-fi”.
Well, the name of my network for 4+ years is “Public Restroom”. So far none of my neighbors asked about it, but I am sure a lot of them laughed…
At work. “Ministry of Magic.”
At my house, it’s “FBI Surveillance Van”
oh, for a moment i thought it was contact, I was going to tell you to just try mark@facebook.com 😉
LOL Donny, I like that one. For my home network I chose to go subtle … Up Yours
