Come on, TDNAM, get your act together!

Posted by Acro in Business, Domains on December 12th, 2011

I love NameJet’s live auction mode as it clearly displays the bids as they come in. It’s live domain auction with no wondering whether your bid got in or who’s outbidding you.

On TDNAM, that’s another story.

Not only there is no live mode, in which case one has to keep refreshing a window, but also the drop down menu often misbehaves due to some CSS glitch.

The final straw: delayed email confirmations. Today I was bidding on a domain and made sure that I refreshed the auction window every few seconds.

The email notifications arrived with insanely late timestamps, some up to an hour later. By that time, I had won the domain but it’s definitely frustrating seeing how one might lose a good deal.

Could not agree more and lost one auction because of this. Pakoo.com a couple weeks ago.
They need to make it more dynamic so you do not have to keep refreshing every second.

    OK. We’ll get this fixed.

We also need transparency to see who is actually bidding against us.

Just yesterday, I won the godaddy auction for indianjewelry.com for $16,005…

I was bidder 3 going against bidder 11 all the way from $5k to $16k…

Who is bidder 11? … another Halverez?

It would be nice if we can see all the bidders names ATLEAST after the auction ends.

Thanks Paul. Some great deals on TDNAM but the bidding platform would benefit from an overhaul.

All godaddy emails even from renewals have been delayed for many months now, they just have to much damn business, not exactly a bad thing, also why not get more registry connections for backorders, why can’t godaddy be better than namejet?

You can always checkout Zearn.com (still in beta) but no refreshing involved. Radar feature and much more. The site still needs a lot of work but it is helpful and fun when the live auctions are running.

Sorry for the plug, but I felt your pain several years ago and needed to do something about it.
