Sedo responded to my inquiry about the domain name, MicrosoftLogo.com, that some clueless chap went ahead and registered.
Initially, I believed that the source code pulling ads from the Sedo server was some sort of a ‘hack’, but apparently I was wrong.
Daniel from Sedo left this message:
“It appears that the owner of this domain tried to park the name with us, but was unable to do so because it contained a blocked keyword that was flagged by our system. Our system did what it is designed to do, which is prevent the owner from being able to successfully park a domain with a blocked keyword, or earn revenue from it. This is why you could see the Sedo Parking info when viewing the domain’s source code, but the domain did not resolve to a parked page.”
Usually, banned keywords in domains parked at Sedo, result in the message “Services for this domain have been discontinued” being displayed. For some reason, this one did not work as expected.
Good to see Sedo enforcing famous mark filtration on their system.
@Acro – Message “Services for this domain have been discontinued” is displayed when Sedo detect fake clicks on the parking page.
Thanks Jay. Either way, the lack of a message on the banned domain was baffling, to say the least.
