I’ve been using EscrowHill as a domain escrow service for almost two months now; having documented my first sale to a domestic domain buyer, it’s time to share some info about an international sale as well.
The option to use the Premium Escrow where EscrowHill takes control of both the domain and the funds, allows me to negotiate with domain buyers with very little concern about the exchange process.
When a Swiss buyer tried twice to make me lower the asking price for the domain citing the “cost of rebranding” due to the existence of the plural, I gave them an ultimatum: pay my asking price plus Premium Escrow fees, or move along.
By creating such a predicament, I tested the validity of the buyer’s claims, who sure enough complied with my requirement.
After initiating an escrow with EscrowHill.com, I sat back and watched as the buyer signed up for an account.
An initial glitch where they started their own escrow for the domain sale was quickly fixed by Andee Hill’s team in a transparent manner. The buyer chose to pay via bank wire, and three days later a reminder was sent out. On the fifth day, the funds had arrived and I was instructed to push the domain to the EscrowHill managing account.
Due to apparent language problems, the buyer appeared to be less communicative, and they were instructed by Andee Hill’s team on how to proceed with the creation of a GoDaddy account.
The $5,000 sale completed and funds were released yesterday. Despite the fact that incoming bank wires arrive from a New Zealand bank where EscrowHill is incorporated, my account reflected the transaction just a day later.
The cost of Premium Escrow at EscrowHill is more affordable than at other competing services that offer such an option, and I will use it again in the future. As a domain seller, I’m very satisfied with the pure domain escrow service, as well as the personal care with which Andee Hill manages every domain transaction.
Nice, we could consider giving them a try as well 🙂
I see they are licensed as a New Zealand Registered Financial Service Provider, just wondering if they are also audited (certified).
Congrats acro on the sale.
I haven’t used EH yet but I really like their premium option where they take control of the domain and the funds.
Next domain sale I will give them a try!
