GoDaddy is not loved by everyone, but they seem to have figured their customer retention game right: they can offer sizable discounts.
With a good chunk of my .CO portfolio spread across two registrars, GoDaddy and Name.com, I’ve been facing renewal fees on or around the 2nd anniversary of .CO.
I’m renewing all of my domains, and decided to transfer them over to GoDaddy, as Name.com could not match the discount GoDaddy offered, via a 32% coupon code.
My .CO investment portfolio almost exclusively targets geo-domains, and I’ve been following the growth of the TLD very closely.
Have their been any GEO domain sales for .co outside the initial landrush auctions? .co is a dying breed.
Anticareer – Personally, I’ve sold several geo-domains of my original portfolio, along with a number of LLL .co domains. Not sure why you’d say it’s a ‘dying breed’ when growth and recent stats show otherwise.
Anticareer-
I too must disagree as we are showing decent growth since the inception of NewYorkEvents.co
We are soon launching a few more event related .co sites and have high hopes for them.
Not to mention, I hand registered and sold a few for decent coin. I still think the ultimate fate of .co has yet to be determined, but it is proving it has legs as time passes along. It certainly is much better off than a lot of other tld’s that new domainers register garbage with (.pro,.this, .that, .whatever)- I can tell you that much.
Regards,
MH
Now if only there was a Godaddy code for .com renewals under $8 like there used to be!
What price range have most of your .co sales fallen under?
Could you please share the 32% off .CO renewal coupon code that you used at Godaddy?
Serge – Emailed you the code. Anyone else that needs it, let me know.
Acro – Thanks for your prompt reply. You just saved me a ton of money!
Serge – You’re welcome. Posting the code in public bears the risk of GoDaddy canceling it, so if anyone else wants it, let me know.
