Congratulations to Elliot Silver, who not only became a father today but performed a very simple task many modern parents forget about: he registered his daughter’s name in .com
With most if not all first names taken in several TLDs and ccTLDs even, parents often give up their quest to register the name of their newborn.
A simple solution: register the full name – first and/or middle name plus last name – the odds that it’s available rise, depending on the complexity and popularity of your name.
While ‘Hailey Silver‘ returns a handful of results on Facebook, Elliot’s securing of his daughter’s full name in .com establishes full ownership rights on his daughter’s behalf, something that she will definitely appreciate in the future.
Good job, Elliot – now you have to develop it 😀
I did the same thing when my son was born. Parents Magazine reached out to me for an interview regarding the trend in parents registering domains on behalf of their children, but only a portion of my interview published. Warren Adelman from GoDaddy was also interviewed for the article.
Here’s a link to the article: http://www.parents.com/baby/development/intellectual/babies-online
designed and developed this for a client: http://babysdomainname.com/ – using godaddy reseller service.
i have no affiliation with it, but I’m just surprised registrars don’t really promote this side of domains more… I ,mean.. there’s 30 million businesses in the US but there are over 300 Million people…
