Maximize your domain capital thanks to the new federal tax filing deadline

Domain investors, like millions of other professionals in the US and around the globe, are adjusting to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The economy is taking a hit, but it’s not the end of the road. There are plenty of opportunities to stretch your investments, and if you’re looking for extended capital the federal government is getting ready to assist.

Let me remind you that forming an LLC or other corporation to maximize your domain investments is a must. And now for the best part: The federal tax filing deadline has been pushed back 90 days.

Instead of April 15th, the new deadline is on July 15th – and if you were proactive and filed your taxes more than a month ago, there is some great news.

Assuming you are getting a tax refund, you are all set.

But if you owe taxes and already set it up for automatic withdrawal on April 15th, you can cancel that scheduled payment by contacting the IRS and the US Treasury Financial Agent at 888-353-4537. If you don’t cancel that scheduled payment, it will occur as scheduled.

Per the IRS guidelines, you must call to make a payment cancellation request no later than 11:59 p.m. ET two business days prior to the scheduled payment date.

Also, if you’re making quarterly payments using the 1040-ES form, your first quarter estimated payment deadline has also been pushed back to July 15th. However, Q2 payments are still due on June 15th.

An additional assistance of around $1,200 USD is expected from April 15th onward for eligible US taxpayers. The IRS will be sending you free money, so use it wisely to stretch your finances until this pandemic comes to an end.

Lastly, don’t forget the small business loans available as part of a massive $2 trillion USD stimulus package. Visit SBA.gov for more details.

  1. Thanks for the great tip Theo! I’m calling tomorrow… if I can get through.

  2. FYI the wait times each time I’ve called is insane.

  3. Green Jobs – Same for me. Try calling early in the morning, or about 90 minutes before closing. Good luck!
